Jurgen Klopp impressed by Liverpool's Danny Ward

The Mirror says Klopp is ready to offer his Wales worldwide keeper, who was third choice at the club last season and played just one game, the chance to stake a serious claim for the number one spot at the club.

In his last three games for Liverpool, Karius has been directly at fault for three goals; two in the Champions League final against Real Madrid and one against Tranmere Rovers in the Reds' second pre-season friendly this summer.

Klopp reportedly felt that Ward returned from a loan spell at Huddersfield Town and had let his standards slip, in terms of his physical conditioning.

With Simon Mignolet set to depart this summer and with Loris Karius' confidence shattered after the Champions League final, Liverpool are expected to bring in a new shot-stopper but, at this moment in time, it seems like that it won't be Alisson.

Klopp, has been impressed by the increased maturity Ward has shown since arriving back for pre-season training, and with his condition from day one at Melwood.

Maddock goes on to say that Klopp has even ruled out a move for a goalie this summer, with the Reds continuously linked with AS Roma's Alisson, who has a £60 million price tag.
