West Brom unveil 'Boiler Man' - the greatest ever mascot?

West Brom's start to life in the EFL Championship may have begun with a defeat to Bolton, but their opening day of the season was not a total disappointment.

Josh Magennis' opener was cancelled out on the stroke of half-time by Harvey Barnes, and Magennis looked like he might have missed Bolton's chance to win it.

West Brom went down 2-1 at home to Bolton Wanderers, for whom Yanic Wildschut scored an 89th-minute victor. Martin Braithwaite halved the deficit in the 87th minute and George Friend struck an equaliser in the seventh minute of stoppage time to spark wild celebrations from the away fans.

Wigan were promoted back to the second tier as League One champions and made a winning start with a 3-2 victory against Sheffield Wednesday.

Darren Moore's side will be looking to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking after being relegated following a poor season past year.

Bristol City and hotly-tipped Nottingham Forest played out a 1-1 draw while Ipswich clawed back a point in a home draw against Blackburn thanks to Fulham loanee Tayo Edun's injury-time strike.

There was also late drama at Birmingham, where Viv Solomon-Otabor game the homreside a 2-1 lead in the 89th minute, only for Onel Hernandez to draw Norwich level in the fourth added minute.

The Egypt worldwide is another man that was thought to be heading back to the Premier League with another club but will be starting this year's season with West Brom.
