Everton struck deals to sign both Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes from Barcelona on Thursday, as well as completing a move for Brazil global Bernard before the transfer deadline.

Gomes arrived on a season-long loan deal from the Spanish giants, while Mina agreed a permanent deal worth £27.2m (€30.25m) rising to £28.5m (€31.75m). The 23-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract.

Mina and Gomes both passed medicals in Barcelona on Thursday after Everton officials flew to the Catalan city to finalise the deals.

The relationship between Barcelona and Everton is believed to be strong, with left-back Lucas Digne already moving to Goodison Park from the Nou Camp in this window.

The 25-year-old described his spell with Barca as "a kind of hell" during a candid interview in March, adding that he does not "feel good on the pitch".

Barcelona originally purchased the Palmeiras player in January, paying 11.8 million euros, a very small amount considering the prices that were being paid for other centre-backs at the time.

He has represented Brazil 14 times at senior level but not since their 7-1 defeat by Germany at the 2014 World Cup.

The Brazil global signed a four-year contract earlier today, having joined on a free transfer after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk as a free agent earlier this summer.

Bernard has revealed Silva played a key role in convincing him to join Everton saying: "I chose Everton because of all the things I had heard about Marco Silva and after speaking to him I was happy with what he said to me".
