Firefighters in Derbyshire, England captured video footage of a rare firenado.

No injuries were reported following the phenomenon, also called a "fire whirl".

Firefighters had been tackling the blaze since about 01:20 BST at Ravensbourn Plastics Ltd on Occupation Lane, in Albert Village, Swadlincote.

Leicestershire Fire Service Firefighters have now released footage of the blaze.

The blaze involved stacked plastic pallets, which were ordinarily used for making plastic crates for supermarkets.

At about 15:00, firefighters started damping down the fire.

The incredible fire whirl could be seen reaching into the sky as crews battled the flames at a plastic pallet factory on Tuesday morning.

"Crews from across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire have been working hard since the early hours of the morning, jointly with partners from the police, Seven Trent Water and the Environment Agency, to bring the fire under control, prevent any further spread and bring the incident to a safe and swift conclusion".

His son Russell Meredith, 36, who directs the operations, added: 'It is lucky it is this time of year as we are at half capacity.

All of that sounds like a pretty reasonable explanation, but once you see the video, a much more straightforward explanation is that we have somehow accidentally opened a gate into Hell and Lucifer himself is about to emerge and wreak havoc.
