Playing two spinners at Lord's is a "tempting thought" for Virat Kohli as India aim to hit back following a defeat to England in the first Test.

Most of England was in the grip of a heat wave over the past two months and it seemed like the Indians would get to start the Lord's Test with conditions similar to the sub-continent.

It proved beyond the tourists, despite Kohli making 51 to follow his first-innings 149 - the star batsman's maiden Test century on English soil. While the weather continues to play tricks at London, it is not all gloom and doom for the Indians.

Virat Kohli and his boys missed the opportunity of the taking an early lead in the Test series as they went down by 31 runs in the opening Test against the hosts despite their skipper's heroics.

"He and AB de Villiers have got the best techniques, and AB de Villiers is not playing Test cricket so that makes him (Kohli) the stand-out player". Any Test match we are playing, we are competitive. I do think that a result is still possible if the rain stays away - and that's a big if.

This is not the first occasion when Arjun had bowled in Team India nets.

There was a lot of talk about the inclusion of seamer Jamie Porter ahead of the first Test but Captain Root preferred Sam Curran and the player delivered a Man-of-the-Match performance.

A decision on whether or not to play Moeen Ali as the second spinner will also be made tomorrow depending on the conditions, the England captain said.

India too could make a top-order change with the experienced Cheteshwar Pujara waiting in the wings if struggling opener Shikhar Dhawan is omitted.

For England, they will be missing the services of all-rounder Ben Stokes, which would hurt them as he was among the wickets in the second innings at Edgbaston.

But Arun said Jasprit Bumrah was "out of contention", the paceman still sidelined after missing the first Test with the broken thumb he suffered during a Twenty20 worldwide against Ireland in June. "The challenge is there for us to adapt even better and we have our plans in place".

"I would consider that as a conservative move", Arun added.
