Those of you lucky enough to snap one up will also receive a commemorative copper plate, featuring a limited edition serial number. These include a matching DualShock 4 controller, PlayStation Camera, a vertical stand for the console, and a mono headset. It's a new translucent dark blue version of the console that will be limited to 50,000 units worldwide.

Just 50,000 units of the 500 Million LImited Edition PS4 Pro will be sold worldwide, and it'll be available for $500 at retailers starting on August 24th.

While the 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 does come with the system, it can also be purchased as a standalone item for $64.99.

The PlayStation brand has sold over 500 million consoles, and Sony is celebrating with perhaps their prettiest PS4 model ever. Sony is celebrating the milestone by releasing a rather lovely, blue PS4 Pro Limited Edition. Select consoles also have important dates etched onto them, such those marking the U.S. launch of the original PlayStation and the PS4. This fetching finish allows you to see the PS4 Pro's (and controller's) innards, and there's even a plaque on the front of the device emblazoned with its serial number. The one you buy might even feature the PS4 U.S. release date serial number 01115, or 01013 for the PSVR launch date.

In the United Kingdom you'll be able to pre-order the limited-edition console, gold headset, and wireless control online from 10am on August 14 at Amazon, Game, Smyths Toys, ShopTo, Currys PC World and Very. The matching DualShock 4 controller will be available separately for $64.99, while Sony will also launch a limited edition Gold Wireless Headset featuring the same translucent blue design with copper accents for $99.99.
