Still in progress are issues like character optimisation, improving the server tick rate (when players are in close proximity, this rate slows down and can cause delays when picking up items, for example), improved anti-hack and anti-cheat solutions (hello, Sanhok), and faster and smarter matchmaking. But developer PUBG Corporation hopes to change all that with a new initiative named, appropriately enough, "FIX PUBG".

One of the biggest issues the FIX PUBG project has identified is a problem with recurring frame drops, or "hitches".

"Bugs, performance problems, and quality-of-life issues have been limiting PUBG's true potential". Since we released PUBG as an Early Access game past year, the game has grown exponentially, and we've been fortunate enough to have millions of incredibly passionate players like you.

As usual, the new patch targets issues players have noted with the game and seeks to address them - the two main targets this time are directional sprinting (addressing something that was introduced in a previous patch) and loading times when entering matches.

While I love the idea of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, the trickle feed of game updates has been really tough. So we think it's time to do something about it, ' the company explains in the site's introduction. But when that game is a competitive free-for-all, cheaters take a massive toll on the fun more honorable players have.

Bluehole has rolled out a new Xbox PUBG hotfix that improves loading times and analog character movement. While it may not retain parity with its PC brethren, Bluepoint Games and PUBG Corp has undoubtedly worked tirelessly over the past few months to bring the game up to scratch.

Having launched a dedicated website-which contains a roadmap, a fix log and an FAQ-the developer says it will be "entirely focused" on bug fixes, "fundamental" performance issues and "long-needed" quality of life improvements.
