Margot Kidder's Death Ruled Suicidal Overdose

Maggie McGuane told the Associate Press that she knew her mom died from suicide after she went to her mom's home on May 13, the day her mom died.

Coroner Richard Wood confirmed to the Associated Press that Kidder died "as a result of a self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose".

"It's a big relief that the truth is out there", she said. McGuane, an only child, noted that Montana has one of the highest suicide rates, adding, "It's important to be open and honest so there's not a cloud of shame in dealing with this".

It's noted that Margot Kidder struggled with mental illness throughout much of her life, which was made worse in a vehicle accident in 1990 that left her in debt and wheelchair bound for near two years. But she didn't say anything until the coroner released an official statement.

As it was previously reported, the police discovered Margot passed away on the 13th of May in her home in Livingston. She reprised the high-profile role in the three more films in the franchise. She had been struggling with bipolar disorder for years. But on a trip to NY she caught the acting bug, and after school she moved to Los Angeles to try her luck.

Joan Kesich, a longtime friend who found Kidder's body, said Kidder was fearless and always spoke the truth, regardless of the consequences. Maggie has worked as a photographer, a writer, and occasionally modeled. But on Wednesday the Park County Coroner's Office in Montana, where she lived, revealed that the cause was suicide. "Knowing how many families in this state go through this, I wish that I could reach out to each one of them".
