Riding on the success of the Mi A1 in India, the new phone also focuses on smooth software experience and camera prowess.

The Mi A2 device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 with 4 GB and 6 GB variants. Also, just the 4GB+64GB variant will be launched in India today while the higher end 6GB+64GB variant will probably make its entry into the market later.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It's 7.3mm thin and has a Mi A1 like aluminium chassis to assure a sturdy build.

The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest Android One offering in India which has been rebranded as the Xiaomi Mi A2. It will receive the Android P update in the first batch of phones after the final rollout.

Mi A2 is the second in the lineage of Mi A1, which was launched previous year, and with this latest smartphone, the brand is looking forward to its cameras in its social media teasers.

For selfies, the device features a single 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 2.0μm pixels size, and soft LED flash. The primary camera has f/1.75 aperture, which promises brighter photos with the help of a larger aperture and enhances low-light shots.

Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and USB Type-C port. A 3010mAh battery completes the package. Xiaomi will not be bundling a Quick Charge 4.0 compliant charger in the box in India. Reliance Jio customers will also get 4.5TB complimentary data along with a Rs 2,200 instant cashback. The device will be exclusively available via Amazon India; starting August 9 at 12PM. Xiaomi said that the device will be available on Mi.com, Amazon.in and Mi Home offline stores.
