By the end of his junior season, a panel of Penn State experts said Barkley had surpassed him.

Arguably the biggest game to look out for will be the Giants and the Browns, in which the first two draft picks will see each other. Barkley, the second-overall pick, finished with 43 yards on five carries. Then he bounced it outside and gained the edge on flat-footed Browns CB Damarious Randall.

In addition to his rushes, Mayfield completed two passes of more than 20 yards on the drive.

Taylor and Landry are the faces of an influx of talent this offseason following the franchise's first winless season.

Rashard Higgins and rookie Antonio Callaway will compete for Coleman's spot.

Mayfield calmly stepped up in the pocket and delivered a low but catchable ball to WR C.J. Board over the middle for a fresh set of downs.

Barkley's run led to an Aldrick Rosas 42-yard field goal, the only points produced by the starting offense in two series.

After an uneventful first drive, Mayfield led the Browns on a 14-play, 72-yard drive in the second quarter that ended with a 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end David Njoku to give Cleveland a 13-3 lead.

It was all so familiar for Sooners fans and novel for Clevelanders. Mayfield finished 11-for-20, with 212 yards and two touchdowns. He received a ton of work in six series and looked, well, mostly like the big-play magician who won the Heisman trophy previous year.

The Browns (1-0) responded with 13 unanswered points, a run that overlapped with rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield's National Football League debut. That's unlikely, as Hue Jackson and John Dorsey have up until now been steadfast in the support of the starter, Taylor, who couldn't have been more efficient in his own Browns debut.

It's only one preseason game, but there were plenty of reasons to be hopeful.
