Demi Lovato admits her ‘mental illness’ is something she has not yet overcome

Demi's Tell Me You Love Me tour shows in Mexico and South America have been scrapped. It looks like the singer has already checked into rehab and now, one rep has confirmed that the remaining tour stops in Mexico, Chile, Argentina as well as in Brazil are no longer going to take place. Credit card purchases will be automatically refunded. The news comes on the heels of Demi leaving Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. just days ago and jetting outside of California to a rehab facility.

Live Nation and Lotus Productions said they "wish Demi Lovato the best now and in the future and we hope to see her soon in South America".

"Demi understands that every day is a struggle to stay sober, and she's doing everything she can to get back to where she was", the source continued.

Over the weekend, Lovato broke her silence for the first time since her hospitalization with a heartfelt statement posted via social media. "What I have learned is that this mental illness isn't something that disappears and fades with time", she wrote on Instagram.

She added: "I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well".

She went on to tell her many followers that 'I now need time to heal and really focus on my sobriety and my road to recovery.
