During a televised interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". "It makes me wonder, what makes you think that Donald Trump does?"

Kimmel, who has openly criticized Trump on his show, pushed West on his views, asking if he thought Trump was a "good president" or was ever "concerned" when Trump was "alone in the Oval Office" with West's wife, Kim Kardashian, discussing the life sentence of Alice Johnson earlier this year. West told host Jimmy Kimmel, apparently referring to the infamous photo of him wearing a "MAGA" hat.

"I didn't have the confidence to take on the world and the possible backlash and it took me a year and a half have the confidence to stand up and put on the hat no matter what the consequences were", West explained.

The hip-hop star has previously called Trump "my brother" and said they shared the same "dragon energy".

West's admiration for Trump - which appears to stem from an appreciation that of the businessman's unlikely ascent to the presidency - contrasts with his previous views on Republican presidents, namely George W. Bush.

"I'm not ashamed because, in my lifetime, I want to remove the stigma of the maybe 10 people who also maybe suffer from [this]", Kristen said.

"Well, he's a player", West said, right after laughing.

"I mean you so famously and so powerfully said 'George Bush doesn't care about black people.'" Kimmel continued.

In response to West's comments about giving Trump a chance and being kind to one another, Kimmel said, "That's a lovely thought but in literal terms there are families being torn apart at the border of this country".

"I quite enjoy [it] when people are mad at me about certain things".

"There are literally families being torn apart as a result of what this president is doing".
