Lukas Nmecha: Manchester City and England Under-21 striker joins Preston on loan

Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha has completed a loan move to Championship side Preston North End.

"Alex Neil has been a big part of my decision to sign".

The 19-year-old, who helped England U21s to win the 2018 Toulon Tournament in May, is the second City player to join Preston on loan, following Brandon Barker on Tuesday.

"He is very passionate about the game and I am excited by the style of play that the club have been playing".

"We have signed one of the brightest forwards in the country at his age group", North End boss Alex Neil said. We play great football and I am here to add goals to the team.

The England under-21 worldwide will be hoping to impress at Preston and show Manchester City that he can make it at The Etihad in the coming years. "I am here to develop and give the club the best I can". He has spent the last six months training with their first team and we have managed to persuade him that the next stage of his development is to come and play for Preston North End.

Nmecha has won 27 caps at various England youth levels, scoring seven goals, including the victor in the semi-final and final of England Under-19s' UEFA European Championship triumph in Georgia.
