Your Morning Dump... Where the Celtics have the 2nd brightest future in the NBA

Seeing Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward on the court together for the first time in almost a year will be a joy to watch.

"I'm just excited to be out there", Hayward said.

"It's so much fun being able to play again, and play with my teammates", Hayward said.

Speaking to reporters at the team's new training facility in Brighton on Thursday, including ESPN's Chris Forsberg, Hayward said challenges remain before he's the player he was prior to his injury.

It's going to take some time for Gordon Hayward to shake off the rust that comes with missing all but five minutes of last season. "It was the most hard thing I've done". Hayward said he's still working to get fully back into game shape and that getting his full explosiveness back remains one of the last things he must overcome before the season begins. Even if I was 100 percent healthy, I'm not 100 percent basketball-wise, just because I haven't played in a year. He's looking to regain his timing and rhythm, and he is eager to regain the groove with his teammates.

Hayward had hoped to return from his ankle injury before the end of last season but suffered a further setback when he was told he needed more surgery back in May. And once the season starts, he doesn't care if he's contributing as a starter or by coming off the bench.

"Very anxious", Hayward said. "My goal is to help us get that banner".

Irving, now 26 years of age, will team up with two of HBS's MBA student mentors who will "develop their business acumen and empower them to make better business decisions".

Despite the loss of their starting backcourt, the Celtics still advanced to the Eastern Conference finals, falling to the Cavaliers in seven games.
