I Believe In Maurizio Sarri's Philosophy, Chelsea Defender Insists

Backing his former teammate to come good

Backing his former teammate to come good

Sarri replaced Antonio Conte in the summer after a long drawn out saga over whether he would remain at Stamford Bridge or not.

The 31-year old defender, who is in his second spell with the London club, has bounced back and featured in all the four opening matches as Chelsea maintained their ideal start to the new season under the Italian.

But a change in manager at Stamford Bridge has seen Willian continue his career with the Blues and he has featured in all four of Chelsea's Premier League matches so far this season.

'First of all he's a great person, great as a human.

The 31-year-old, who was a key figure when Chelsea last won the Premier League title in 2016, went on to claim that Sarri's high success rate in London is due to his attitude towards life and that his philosophy revolves around enjoying every day.

While dethroning champions Manchester City might be a tough ask, Makelele - a two-time Premier League victor with the Blues - is expecting big things from Sarri. "He is a great coach".

Chelsea FC have won all four of their opening four Premier League games under their new boss to leave them joint top of the table heading into this weekend's round of fixtures.

Luiz said: 'He wants to play with the ball, he wants to play with intensity, to work on the details and to give us all the information he can about the next game and the opponent. "These five years have been very good for me and I am proud to be a Chelsea player".

"Every week he tries to make the best plan possible for the exact game and this is great because he is working in the best way for the team, for the collective".

"I think that is one of the most important things in life: when you love to do something, when you're happy".

Chelsea will host to Cardiff City and Luiz will be looking to help his side keep a clean sheet and maintain their 100 per cent record.
