With AP Photos.Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was rescheduled to Monday because of rain. It's the first time since at least 1999 - internet records only go back so far unfortunately - that we can find that NASCAR has run a race without practice or qualifying.

Plus, there are no lights at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, so the race would not be able to be contested once it gets dark.

NASCAR made a decision to move up the start time of Sunday's race from 2 pm ET to 1 pm ET in an effort to ensure the Cup race could be completed on Sunday.

Drivers for both series will start the respective races without benefit of practice.

That said, according to NASCAR.com, a Toyota Tundra track-drying team of 19 vehicles is ready dry the track when needed, as are 10 jet dryers and four vacuums. Kyle Busch, a six-time victor this season, has the top starting spot for the Big Machine Vodka 400, sharing the front row with seven-time victor Kevin Harvick.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon have affected the entire schedule at Indianapolis this weekend.

With qualifying canceled, the field will be set on points. Cable subscribers can also watch on the NBC Sports app.
