- Wage/revenue ratio sits at a healthy 52%.

During past year, in which the club registered a record £500.5m turnover and a profit of £10m as Pep Guardiola's team swept to the Premier League title, Mansour nevertheless invested a further £58m in return for new shares.

The annual report for the 2017-18 financial year was released Thursday showing the Abu Dhabi-owned club made a profit of 10.4 million pounds.

City, whose 2016-17 revenue stood at £473.4m, have become only the second English club to break the £500m barrier after Manchester United in 2016 - a feat their neighbours repeated a year ago by bringing in £581.2m.

"Most of the developments visible today are the result of a carefully crafted strategy - one in which organic evolution has also been allowed to thrive", Al Mubarak said.

However, surging television revenues, commercial sponsors and regular Champions League football mean that City now trail only local rivals Manchester United and European powerhouses Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for income, according to football finance specialists Deloitte.

The Chairman concludes his message, reflecting that "Our aim is obviously to build on the achievements of the a year ago".

This month marked the 10th anniversary of Sheikh Mansour's takeover of City and Al Mubarak added: "Our journey is not complete and we have more targets to fulfil".

"I've always said that I would like to play for Las Palmas, but we'll see how things are in two years".

"We recognise that the sporting challenge continues".

The club's facilities have also been transformed with state-of-the-art training facilities.
