Former first daughter Barbara Bush married Craig Louis Coyne in a private ceremony in ME on Sunday. "But also, just family in a place that means family love, and it was just attractive", Hager, who served as matron of honor, said. The bride, who serves as the co-founder and chair of Global Health Corps, a non-profit that supports emerging health professionals, wore an ivory silk crepe Vera Wang custom gown, according to the statement. "And we're thrilled to welcome Craig Coyne to our family", the former president wrote on Instagram. Hager, who served as her sister's matron of honor, shared with her Today colleagues part of the emotional speech she gave during the wedding reception. "I'm so proud to be this beauties sister", Jenna Bush Hager said along with a sweet photo.

Former President Bush walked his daughter down the aisle at the family's Walker Point compound, where the family often vacations. "The wedding was officiated by the bride's aunt, Dorothy Bush Koch".

Laura had a family-only wedding at the family's Kennebunkport, Maine, home, and was surrounded by her nearest and dearest including her parents and twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager. The former First Lady and Bush twins' grandmother died in April at age 92.

As for her something blue? Mr Coyne is a screenwriter and actor, known for his role in 2005 war movie Jarhead.

The two were set up on a blind date by friends in November 2017, and were a couple by New Year's Eve.

Coyne proposed in the same spot Barbara's grandparents became engaged 75 years ago.

"We've been excited to do such a small wedding with just our family", Bush told PEOPLE.
