Blizzard Says It 'Didn't Pull Any Announcements From BlizzCon'

Diablo 2 Remastered May Be Announced at Blizz Con 2018 Report

Diablo 2 Remastered May Be Announced at Blizz Con 2018 Report

Meanwhile, Blizzard's sister company, video game publisher Activision, timed a free giveaway of sci-fi shooter "Destiny 2" on PC to coincide with Blizzcon.

A release date for the iOS and Android game is yet to be announced. Those sources also said that Diablo 4 is now in development, although the team isn't "ready to commit to an announcement" as the game has gone through many big changes over the last four years.

Following Blizzard's Diablo: Immortal announcement from BlizzCon 2018, which led to an immediate negative response by fans, Kotaku reports that Blizzard's original plan was to release a tease for Diablo 4 at the end of their announcement.

Things got a little heated over in the Diablo camp over the weekend. Initially, Kotaku reported that this was meant to be the closer for BlizzCon 2018's presentation, but this has been disputed by Blizzard.

Blizzard said it did not immediately have comment on this story. His investigation turned up information that stated a video was recorded in which Blizzard Co-Founder Allen Adham spoke to fans about a new Diablo project.

Initially, the report eluded to the fact that the announcement may have been pulled a few weeks before Blizzcon, around the same time that Blizzard's blog post went up, telling fans not to expect Diablo 4. "We can confirm that Diablo 4 is indeed in development". "We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right." the statement reads.

Diablo III launched in May 2012, and its first and only expansion, Reaper of Souls, followed in March 2014.

With no word on a fourth proper Diablo entry, Diablo Immortal felt like a betrayal of the franchise to some and a cheap consolation prize to others. But then fans quickly proved themselves to be that messy bitch who hurls things at their significant other because how dare Blizzard show up with a pearl necklace when it knew they were waiting for a diamond ring. Blizzard has assured fans publicly that it has multiple Diablo games in development.
