The Kentucky Wildcats will have a lot to improve on following a 118-84 blowout loss to the Duke Blue Devils. Duke would go on to shoot over 50 percent from the floor.

Duke's fabulous freshman weren't just ready for their first turn in the spotlight.

Barrett was 13 of 26 from the field with six assists and four rebounds, and Williamson went 11 of 13 from the field with seven rebounds.

The Duke Blue Devils clearly have the top recruiting class in the nation, but the Kentucky Wildcats were right behind them at No. 2.

Green averaged 9.3 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game in 25.6 minutes of action while Richards averaged 5.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 0.2 rebounds in 14.7 minutes.

Duke overwhelmed Kentucky from the game's opening tip, showing its offensive versatility and efficiency while building a 21-point lead before 10 minutes had been played.

Kentucky trailed 11-8 when Duke scored the game's next nine points in less than two minutes. Sharpshooters like Cam Reddish and Tre Jones were on point, but Duke also saw some contributions from Williamson and Barrett, making 6-of-11 attempts as a team. Kentucky shot 44 percent from the field but allowed the Blue Devils to shoot 54 percent.

Duke led 34-13 with 10:37 left in the first half.

For a team with potential weaknesses from distance, the Blue Devils didn't show it in the first half.

Kentucky never got closer than 27 the rest of the game.

But Duke closed the half getting easy baskets from Barrett, off a pass from Jones, and Bolden, off a pass from Barrett, to lead 59-42 at intermission.

It was the most lopsided defeat in coach John Calipari's tenure at Kentucky and marked the eighth time in 10 meetings the Blue Devils have beaten the Wildcats.
