"If I put on Tinder that I am 69, I will not get a response.[As] 49, with that face of mine, then I'm rammed", he said. "If I'm 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different vehicle", he said.

The entrepreneur and self-help guru says doctors told him he he has the body of a 45-year-old, and he's suing his local authority in The Netherlands after they refused to amend his age on official documents.

A Dutch pensioner is going to court to in an effort to have has age changed from 69 to 49.

The BBC reported a court will rule on the matter within a month.

Mr Ratelband told De Telegraaf: "You can change your name".

His case? He wants to shift his birthday from March 11, 1949, to March 11, 1969, comparing the change to identifying as being transgender.

Local media said that Ratelband, who is a media personality and motivational speaker, is a trainer in neuro-linguistic programming and described himself as a "young god".

The judge conceded that the ability to change gender was a development in the law.

"I'm so convinced of myself and my reasons are well thought out", he said.

Ratelband's website also says his "age focus is to turn at least 94 years old and to then leave this world healthy and with pleasure when it has become a better place for everyone".

Ratelband said during the prosecutor told him "we need to know your biological age to control you", which he said is "exactly the problem". If I'm 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different vehicle. 'For a start I'll be missing out on my old age pension for 20 years, ' he said.

'For whom did your parents care in those years?

Naturally, the court is sceptical of the matter because no legal mechanism now exists allowing a person to change their birthdate.

He says people have contacted him to express their support and to say they have been discriminated against because of their age. "Who was that little boy?" he was quoted as saying. It is due to make a ruling in four weeks.
