Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson was honored with a damehood in London.

Thompson's longtime relationship with The Royals also means that she was subjected to prying questions about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May.

William was on hand to dole out the award to the honorees, which also included actress Sarah Gordy, but Thompson made the most of her time with the Prince, even trying to steal a quick kiss.

Actress Emma Thompson was all smiles Wednesday as she received her damehood at Buckingham Palace from the Duke of Cambridge himself.

"If you're first up, you have to be more formal on such an occasion", the Love Actually star said, "but he's looking wonderful and doing so well".

According to the charity's official site, "every year the Fawcett Society marks Equal Pay Day, the day from which women effectively stop earning relative to men. I've known him since he was little, and we just sniggered at each other", the 59-year-old English star told the Associated Press. "I said, "I can't kiss you, can I?' And he said, 'No don't"!"

"I love Prince William", Thompson said after the ceremony.

As someone who's been in the public eye for decades, Thompson has crossed paths with the royals before and is apparently an old friend of Prince Charles.

The two-time Oscar victor was recognized for her contributions to drama throughout her lengthy career, which includes the films "Love, Actually", "Sense And Sensibility", "The Remains Of The Day", "Howard's End", "In The Name Of The Father" and the "Harry Potter" franchise.

Outside the palace, Thompson smiled and stood next to her husband Greg and two children, Gaia and Tindyebwa.
