Almost a year after the popular PC shooting game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) launched on Xbox One, evidence has begun popping up to suggest that the game's launch on the PS4 could be imminent.

The long-rumoured PUBG PS4 release might be sooner than you think.

PlayStation 4 owners could soon be tucking into a hearty chicken dinner, or perhaps turkey given the rumoured release date of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Today, that prospect is looking even more likely. Don't know when it's coming out, but it's already on Sony servers, hosting the game image and Content-ID for the psn store.

That pageantry has since died down some since the swelling popularity of other battle royale games like Fortnite, but that enthusiasm might be reignited if the game arrives on the PS4 next month. It's also around the time of the Video Game Awards, where big games are frequently announced.

PUBG has only ever been a timed exclusive, so it was always coming to Sony's console at some point, especially after it was outed by the South Korean ratings board.

Initially a PC only game, PUBG is now also available on mobile and Xbox One, as players of rival console PS4 were left in the dark. For seemingly no reason in particular, Microsoft has chose to hand out free copies of two Xbox One games.
