Did Sarah Sanders post a doctored InfoWars video to justify CNN ban?

Trump blows up at Jim Acosta

If Acosta doesn't get his credentials back, CNN can assign a more respectful reporter to cover the White House.

During a news conference that morning, President Donald Trump called Acosta a "rude, awful person" as Acosta challenged the president's claims about Central American refugees fleeing to the U.S.

"The White House Correspondents' Association strongly objects to the Trump Administration's decision to use US Secret Service security credentials as a tool to punish a reporter with whom it has a hard relationship", the group said.

Acosta, the chief White House correspondent for CNN, was engaged in a tense exchange with President Donald Trump during a press conference at the White House when a White House intern walked up and tried to take the microphone away from him.

The White House had not commented on the video at the time of writing.

POTUS tried to move on to the next reporter's question, but Acosta held onto the microphone, as an aide attempted to take it from him.

"Journalists should be able to do their job without fear that a tough series of questions will provoke retaliation", said CPJ's Advocacy Director Courtney Radsch.

"I was seated next to ⁦Acosta⁩ at today's press conference and did not witness him "placing his hands" on the young intern, as the White House alleges", Reuters correspondent Jeff Mason wrote on Twitter. From Acosta's rants to CNN saying this is a threat to democracy, you'd think that the Trump White House tossed a Walter Cronkite-like reporter out onto the street. "Jim Acosta is always the story". "Surely you don't trust InfoWars.?" he said on Twitter.

John Legend then called Trump a "f**king embarrassment".

Acosta repeatedly presses Sanders in her rare briefings to clarify quotes and policy from the president.

For the past two years, White House lawyers and the Trump Organisation have repeatedly rebuffed Democratic efforts to get even the most basic financial information on Trump's businesses.

'That's enough, ' Trump said pointing at Acosta, who kept trying to talk.

Trump shut down the question and went on to say, "I tell you what".

"You should let me run the country", Trump said. "Jim Acosta has our full support", CNN said.

"They are not only unsafe, they are disturbingly un-American", CNN tweeted after the exchange. It devolved into a difference of opinion about the term "invasion", which the president has used to describe this caravan.

The WHCA called on the White House to "immediately reverse this weak and misguided action".

Trump also told April Ryan of the Urban National Radio Network to "sit down" and wait her turn. "As long as @realdonaldtrump is our President, I'm not taking a day off".
