Irish singer Sinead O'Connor said she no longer wants to associate with white people after conversion to Islam

"I'm terribly sorry...", she began.

The controversial 51-year-old singer also apologized for her apparent racism in the same tweet, acknowledging that her desire never to associate with white people was "so racist I never thought my soul could ever feel it". But truly I never wanna spend time with white people again (if that's what non-muslims are called).

"BTW if one IS an intelligent theologian and has taken the journey, one would know there is no more talk of ancient violence in the Q'ran as the Tanukh, the Bible or The sodding Mahabarata". "And it's all equally (irrelevant) to our times", she wrote, adding the hashtag "#ReignOfWhiteMANover".

O'Connor wasn't done there - she went on to attack President Donald Trump and Americans. "So fire him. Otherwise you're complicit", she wrote.

Irish singer and songwriter, who recently converted to Islam, posted a controversial Twitter message, which gathered hundreds of angry and puzzled responses from members of Muslim and non-Muslim communities alike.

In response to this, she simply noted that "If its "Crazy" to care".

"This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim", she explained to her Twitter followers. All scripture study leads to Islam. "Which makes all other scriptures redundant", the Grammy victor added, before revealing she would henceforth be known by a new name.

In 2017, she changed her name to Magda Davitt and said at the time: "Sinead O'Connor is gone".

"Sinead O'Connor is gone. That person is gone".

O'Connor has said in the past that she struggles with mental health issues.
