Russian Federation has set up a special commission to probe the fatal incident at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport when a 25-year-old Armenian citizen was struck and killed by an airplane on the runway. The investigation will last ten days, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency director Alexander Neradko said, according to TASS.

The man was hit by the jet's landing gear which caused "deadly injuries", investigators said.

The Armenian Embassy in Moscow identified the deceased as 25-year-old Albert Yepremyan.

He had been due to board a flight to Yerevan on Tuesday night but at around 8pm he headed for the runway instead of boarding the bus waiting to take passengers to the plane.

But he had started a fight during the flight to Moscow and police had been called to detain him at Sheremetyevo airport.

"A decision was made to temporarily ground the airliner", they added.

Interfax news agencies also quoted a source as saying that airport services and police inspected the plane when it landed in Athens and found "holes" in the fuselage.
