Report: iPhone Sales Fail Triggered "Fire Drill" at Apple

The iPhone XR starts at $749 for the 64GB model, and purchasing the clear case still means that your total will be less than $800.

"Company executives moved some marketing staff from other projects to work on bolstering sales of the latest handsets in October, about a month after the iPhone XS went on sale and in the days around the launch of the iPhone XR", a source familiar with the situation (but who requested anonymity) told Bloomberg, describing the situation as a "fire drill" - a poignant overture hinting that newer iPhone models aren't selling well. Like the iPhone 5c, it comes in cool finishes like red, blue, and yellow, but rather than being made from cheap plastic, it's got glass panels front and bag just like its flagship siblings.

The Clear Case is different to the transparent cases you can buy on Amazon and eBay for a dollar.

"Bloomberg notes that Apple on Sunday actually went so far as to denote a starting price of "$449*" for the iPhone XR on its website.

The case, in Apple's words, is "thin, light, and easy to grip", "crafted with a blend of optically clear polycarbonate and flexible TPU materials, so the case fits right over the buttons for easy use". Interestingly, if that's the case with the "affordable" iPhone XR, it can be assumed that the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, which are more expensive, aren't really selling that well either.

If you own an Apple iPhone XR, you might want to protect the device from falls and drops even while showing off the design and color of the phone. On the surface, a scratch-resistant coating has been applied not only to the exterior, but also to the interior. It doesn't look like the Clear Case has hit physical Apple Stores yet, but we expect that to happen soon.
