Arsenal to 'remind players of their responsibilities' after 'hippy crack' video emerges

Stars including Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi feature in the footage, which appears to come from nightclub CCTV footage and was published by The Sun.

Young French midfielder Guendouzi can be seen passing out after inhaling from a balloon on a sofa.

While it is not illegal to possess the drug, it is illegal to give away or sell.

Arsenal says "the players will be spoken to about this and reminded of their responsibilities as representatives of the club".

The party appears to have taken place just days before the start of the Premier League season in August.

The Sun quoted a source as saying that the players had been "off their heads on the gas" and that Ozil, 30, a World Cup victor with Germany in 2014, had "looked out of it at one point".

The North London club sit in fifth in the Premier League table, only behind fourth-placed Chelsea on goal difference.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Shkodran Mustafi have also been identified in the video, but neither were seen inhaling the gas, with Mkhitaryan actively refusing to be given a balloon.

Arsenal have released a statement revealing that they will "remind players of their responsibilities" after several of them were videoed appearing to inhale laughing gas.

Arsenal, under new manager Unai Emery, are now fifth in the Premier League table and are unbeaten in 20 consecutive matches in all competitions.
