"Raptors 905 guard Kay Felder was charged by police in connection with an allegation of domestic violence", the team said in a statement.

The Toronto Raptors' G League affiliate, Raptors 905, has released former National Basketball Association guard Kay Felder after his arrest on domestic violence charges outside Toronto on Monday morning, the team announced.

The report goes on to allege that Felder threatened the unnamed woman and choked her before authorities arrived on the scene.

The identity of the woman has not yet been made public, but multiple sources say that Felder apparently has known her for years.

Monday's arrest may cost Felder any hope of returning to the National Basketball Association. The Raptors waived him in October.

The undersized ball handler showed enough basketball skill to be drafted by the Hawks with the No. 54 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

The alleged victim was able to call a family member who then called police who confirmed Felder was taken into custody and booked for assault and uttering threats.

Felder has spent time with several teams over the course of his brief National Basketball Association career, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Chicago Bulls, and the Detroit Pistons.

In 58 career National Basketball Association games, Felder averaged 3.8 points and 1.3 assists in 9.1 minutes per game.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt was sacked by the team after TMZ released a video Friday of him attacking a woman at a Cleveland hotel. "As this matter is before the courts, Raptors 905 will not comment further".
