Google Finally Fixes a Major Pixel 3 Problem

If you happen to be both a Google One subscriber and interested in picking up a new Google Pixel 3, then we've got some good news.

This fix "keeps background apps from being prematurely closed", "improves memory performance in certain circumstances", and "improves camera capture performance". The update should be available on your Pixel today. It however said that users in Germany should be able to enjoy eSIM support on their Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones "soon" via Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone.

Besides patching the security issues, the update addresses a number of performance issues on the Pixel 3 and other smartphones. Reliance Jio and Airtel will soon be offering eSIM configuration for the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in India, thereby enabling full connectivity with a mobile network without the need for a dedicated physical SIM card. First, Google has adjusted the volume behaviour when connecting to a Bluetooth device, which applies to all Pixel phones. You should see it with the others I mentioned.

Pixel 3 owners who have picked up a Pixel Stand accessory for their Google Home will be happy to hear Google has "improved notification visibility" while your phone is docked to the Stand (though it's unclear by the post as to what exactly those improvements are). "We look forward to continuing our work with our partners on the potential benefits of eSIM-whether that's getting you connected to a phone, watch, tablet, or laptop-in the future".
