Surrey's Michelle De Roma with her Lotto Max cheque for $39.5 million. "I went and scanned it myself and it said 'it's a victor, ' and then the number $39 million came up".

De Roma, who's a mother of three, says her husband didn't believe her so he checked online for himself, shouted "Wow", then gave her a kiss. "I heard someone won in South Delta, so I made a decision to check my ticket", she said.

"I first will secure my family".

De Roma said she hasn't told her children yet but she wants to use the money to build a good life for them, and also travel to Rome to see St. Peter's Basilica and the Colosseum. "We are planning to move out of Surrey, but we don't know where yet", she explained. "For the most part right now, though, I'm just thinking about my kids and their future".

"This will change our life", she said Friday at a news conference. "Dreams really do come true". She bought the ticket at Tsawwassen Mills shopping centre in Delta while doing some Boxing Day shopping.
