According to the Wall Street Journal, the Las Vegas police have issued a warrant to obtain a DNA sample from Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo to see if it matches DNA found on the dress of his supposed victim, Kathyrn Mayorga, who has accused him of rape. Mayorga signed a non-disclosure agreement with the former Real Madrid star in 2009, but is now suing Ronaldo, claiming that Ronaldo and his team of "fixers" coerced her into the agreement. The soccer star allegedly paid the American model-turned-teacher hush money to the tune of $375,000, but Mayorga said she later reconsidered in an attempt to expose the Portuguese striker.

Police reopened the case past year when she came forward. Provided everything in the warrant is correct, police in Italy would now be expected to collect a sample of Ronaldo's DNA to be sent to authorities in Las Vegas.

Mr. Chistiansen reportely declined to comment on the new developments in the probe.

The dress Mayorga was wearing on the night of the alleged rape in 2009 is a key piece of evidence in the case.

The model says Ronaldo has made death threats against her and subjected her to abuse throughout their entire relationship.

It was there that Ronaldo forced himself on Ms. Mayorga while she begged him to stop, she alleges.

Lennard, who was the first celebrity to be evicted in the 2012 series of Celebrity Big Brother, tweeted after watching Surviving R Kelly: 'On that note and after much thought I am reaching out to Kathryn Mayorga and her legal team to offer my assistance in her rape allegation against @Cristiano please contact me.

Ms Mayorga reported the alleged sexual assault to police on the day it occurred.

Under Nevada law, there is no statute of limitations on investigations or potential charges stemming from such reports.
