A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the January 7 order of the Delhi High Court which had disposed of a petition seeking to ban the trailer of upcoming movie, "The Accidental Prime Minister".

The Accidental Prime Minister has been in the news since a while now due to the reported controversial content. According to ANI, the court has now directed that an FIR be filed.

It is based on a book with the same title written by Sanjaya Baru, former Prime Minister Singh's media advisor.

In the plea, Mahajan had requested the court to issue direction to the Centre, Google, YouTube and Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to take steps to stop the exhibition and display of the trailer.

The film is scheduled to release on January 11.

The stylists are worth a mention, as every actor looks convincing as the real-life politicians they played in the film.

The plea, filed through advocate A Maitri, has claimed that "at present if the film is allowed to be released, then it will cause unaccountable damage to the name and fame of the office of Prime Minster of India".

Apart from Kher and Khanna, others named in the complaint include actors playing the roles of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, deputy PM Lal Krishna Advani and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. the complaint also names the movie's producer, director and other key people associated with the project. However, a major chunk of the film has been dedicated to Singh's interactions with Baru and it may also come as a surprise for many who have known him to be phlegmatic. The best part is that it shows the human side of Manmohan Singh though not to a great deal.
