Blue Jackets’ Sergei Bobrovsky to miss game after unknown ‘incident’

Citing an "incident" that "failed to meet expectations and values" of the organization, the Blue Jackets on Thursday told Bobrovsky to stay away from the club while it prepared to play Nashville in Nationwide Arena.

Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 19 shots before being replaced by Korpisalo midway through the third period in a 4-0 loss to Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

"There are certain expectations and values that we have established for our players that define our culture", Kekalainen said Thursday in a press release.

Coach John Tortorella declined to comment on the matter.

Bobrovsky is 18-13-1 this season with a goals-against average of 2.86 and a.906 save percentage.

With Bobrovsky unavailable for tonight's game, the Blue Jackets called up goalie Jean-Francois Berube from the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL.

The 30-year-old Russian will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and is not expected to re-sign with the Blue Jackets. They know my plans for the future. "They know my plans for the season". Goalie Joonas Korpisalo said he was scheduled to start against the Predators.

The Blue Jackets also placed forwards Brandon Dubinsky (lower body) and Markus Hannikainen (upper body) on injured reserve.

The Blue Jackets, who have exited the postseason in the first-round in each of the past two years, now sit third in the Metropolitan Division on 51 points.
