Former Premier League midfielder Jermaine Jenas feels that Eden Hazard has outgrown Chelsea after he watched the Belgian in action in the EFL Cup at Wembley.

"Chelsea are a top side but I think he has outgrown them and he is above [the] level of everybody around him".

The Belgium playmaker also helped his country reach the World Cup semi-finals in Russian Federation past year, where he won the Silver Ball as the tournament's second best player behind Croatia's Luka Modric.

Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid and with his current deal at Chelsea expiring in 2020, he could be on the move soon.

Jenas is aware Chelsea are a top team but he believes Hazard "has outgrown them".

But despite the Blues starting well under new manager Maurizio Sarri, their title challenge has faltered - they are now fourth in the Premier League, 10 points behind leaders Liverpool.

"I actually said [in commentary] that I think he is too good for Chelsea".

Hazard to Real Madrid? This season, he's wrecked havoc weighing in with 10 goals in the league.

"Chelsea were the better side but they didn't really create any chances", Jenas said on BBC Radio 5 live following the game. That's how he scores a lot of his goals.

"From the team's perspective, they don't react well to him playing through the middle because they don't respond to the positions he takes up". Demanding the ball, going by players.

"He can do it, he's talented, but do you get the best Eden Hazard?"
