Louise Redknapp rushed to hospital after suffering a horror fall

The 44-year-old singer was on her way to rehearsals earlier this week when she took a fall and suffered a deep cut on her chin, as well as fracturing her left wrist.

Louise Redknapp has been rushed to hospital after suffering a fall, forcing her to pull out of Dolly Parton musical 9 to 5 for at least two months.

"It breaks by heart to say I am having to take some time out and won't be able to continue with my role in 9-5", she wrote on Instagram. Due to a nasty fall I have only gone and fractured my wrist and got 10 (yes 10) stitches in my chin.

Producers of "9 to 5" - which opens for previews on January 28 - are yet to decide who will replace the "Let's Go Round Again" hitmaker in the musical.

A source close to Louise told The Sun newspaper: "It happened on the way to rehearsals on Tuesday morning". Taking to Instagram to share a photo of her injuries on Friday, Louise said she was heartbroken to be missing the show.

However, bad news for anyone that had hoped to see Louise on stage. "It doesn't seem fair", they added.

They have released a statement on the matter: 'The recovery time recommended means Louise is no longer able to properly rehearse the show in the remaining time left before opening.

Louise's 9 to 5 co-star and Love Island 2016 victor Amber Davies also shared a message about the incident.

'Together we have made the hard decision to delay Louise's start date in the show. We hope that Louise will start performances sometime towards the end of March/early April 2019. "They have said I will be ok but as they say in the theatre "the show much go on' and I wish the rest of the fabulous cast an unbelievable opening night and I will be back on that stage for 9-5 before you know it".
