Westbrook says Adams is'definitely worthy of being an All-Star

The fan vote, which opened on Christmas Day, accounts for 50% of the vote to determine the 10 All-Star starters.

Lakers forward LeBron James (2,779,812) and Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (2,670,806) continue to lead their respective conferences in the second return of NBA All-Star Game voting.

Antetokounmpo is second with 2,670,816 and leads an Eastern Conference starting five that now includes Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving.

Current NBA players account for 25 percent of the vote; so does a media panel.

The format for drafting teams from last season remains in place. Players may vote for their teammates or themselves. Voting for fans, players and media concludes Monday, Jan. 21 at 8:59 p.m. PT.

If the NBA All-Star game were to play this weekend, then last year's regular-season MVP and a back-to-back Finals MVP wouldn't even crack the starting lineups.

While George is up to third in the frontcourt, Steven Adams remains sixth in the frontcourt and Russell Westbrook remains at fourth among guards, respectively, trailing James Harden, Derrick Rose and Stephen Curry.

National Basketball Association head coaches will vote for the reserves and also for replacement nominees in case of an injury, which could bring a few other names into consideration down the line.

The two guards and three front-court players with the best score in each conference will be named NBA All-Star Game starters.

Walker is third among East guards with 858,798 votes, ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons with 695,032.
