Nielsen Music says streaming numbers for R. Kelly have almost doubled after a recent documentary accused the R&B singer of sexual misconduct involving women and underage girls. On Tuesday (January 8), the Cook County State Attorney held a press conference asking anyone who was a victim or has information about a victim to come forward.

On Tuesday, Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx called for any R. Kelly sexual abuse victims to come forward, saying her office can not investigate without the cooperation of victims and witnesses. Some were tied to Kelly's Chicago area home.

Also on Wednesday night (Thursday AEDT), Lady Gaga apologised for 'Do What U Want, ' her 2013 collaboration with Kelly, and said she will remove the song from streaming services.

WGN News reached out to Kelly's lawyer, Steve Greenberg, for comment but he did not return the call. If people in his own industry are willing to turn against him now and the general public believes the women involved, this might be the beginning of the end.

Kelly, who has been dogged by allegations of sexual impropriety for two decades, has not been charged with any crimes since he was acquitted of child pornography charges in 2008. In 2002, he was arrested after a video surfaced appearing to show him having sex with and urinating on a 14-year-old girl. Both Kelly and the girl denied that the video depicted them, and no assault charges were ever brought against Kelly as a result of the tape. "Kelly was free to go about his business", TMZ reports.

Jocelyn Savage's father posted the emotional plea for his daughter to contact her family on Instagram following the "Surviving R Kelly" documentary.

This week, buzz developed about a Georgia criminal investigation launching following last week's Surviving R. Kelly docuseries airing.

Kelly, meanwhile, has steadfastly maintained his innocence of all the allegations made against him. Some even opened up about "new allegations about his sexual, mental, and physical abuse", as Lifetime boasted on their site.
