Meghan Markle reveals how she stayed calm during the royal wedding



The 37-year-old pregnant royal just announced the four organizations for which she has become a royal patron.

Meghan started her career as an actress in the early 2000s after training in theatre, and went on to take major roles in TV series such as Suits, and films such as Horrible Bosses, A Random Encounter and Anti-Social.

Meghan has also become patron of Smart Works, a charity that works with unemployed and vulnerable women to help them regain the skills and confidence to return to work, and Mayhew, which supports animal rescue services.

The mom-to-be is now the official royal patron of four organizations: The National Theatre, The Association of Commonwealth Universities, animal charity The Mayhew, and women's charity Smart Works.

Kensington Palace confirmed Meghan would be visiting the Smart Works today, and will be making public visits to the other three organisations over the coming weeks.

Meghan has previously spoken in support of championing the arts, and has expressed she wishes to use her position to make a difference to the arts sector.

The duchess also will work to support Smart Works, a charity that helps unemployed women with interview preparation and styling sessions (complete with free clothing), as well as with Mayhew, an worldwide animal welfare charity.

Markle stopped by Smart Works on Thursday for her first public appearance at the organization. The Duchess has privately been working with the charity over the past year.

Acknowledging that Meghan is "definitely bothered by all the reports and speculation", the source also claimed that the Duchess of Sussex has been affected by recent reports portraying her as a social climber.

Buckingham Palace said that "patronages generally reflect the interests of the member of the Royal Family involved".

Thursday was a big (HUGE) day for Meghan Markle.

"There's no question about the fact that theatre has a challenge".
