Hugh Grant has appealed to thieves who broke into his vehicle overnight and stole the script for a new film he is working on.

The actor said a bag taken in the theft, which happened on Sunday evening, also contained his children's medical cards.

"Many weeks worth of notes and ideas".

Grant tweeted: "In the unlikely chance that anyone knows who broke into my auto tonight and stole my bag, please try and persuade them to at least return my script".

Grant also asked for the return of his children's medical cards, offering the West London address of his production company, Coach Films, as a contact point.

The star, most famous for his roles in Richard Curtis romantic comedies Love Actually, Four Weddings And A Funeral and Notting Hill, recently starred in A Very English Scandal.

Comedian David Baddiel shared Hugh's frustration and replied: 'I'm sorry.

Hugh is now working on the upcoming movie Toff Guys, directed by Guy Ritchie, which centers on a British drug lord, while he has also signed up for a HBO series, The Undoing, which will also star Nicole Kidman.
