Detroit: 2019 Ram Heavy Duty unveiled with up to 1000 lb-ft of torque

The truck is a beefier version of the Ram pickup. Interior improvements across the board also resemble those changes that were made in the 2019 Ram 1500. Buyers not wanting a diesel can opt for a 6.4L V8 making 410hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. Diesel engines get mated to a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission, while gassers get a new TorqueFlight eight-speed auto.

Ram has unveiled the 2019 Ram HD trucks and the big claim to fame for the rides is a revised 6.7L Cummins inline-six turbo-diesel engine.

A Ram 3500 regular cab 4×2 long-box dually fitted with the Max Tow package can tow 35,100 pounds and carry a 6570-pound payload.

The truck rides on stronger and lighter front and rear axles and has progressive springs with upgraded bushings. Rear air springs are available with three modes with normal/payload detecting the load and adjusting springs accordingly. But in addition to be softer-riding, the air system is also useful for hauling cargo. Additionally, the interior is completely redone with the available 12-inch Uconnect display.

The Ram Heavy Duty also includes a variety of safety systems, including trailer sensors and the option to add cameras to monitor behind a trailer, as well as what is inside.

Ram hasn't announced an on sale date or pricing information for its 2019 Heavy Duty lineup, be we expect to hear more on those topics in the coming weeks.
