Neverwinter Nights

Beamdog is probably best known for bringing enhanced versions of these classic RPGs to PC.

The six games in question include the entirety of the Baldur's Gate franchise, including the recently released Siege of Dragonspear by Beamdog, along with the critically acclaimed Planescape Torment, Neverwinter Nights, and Icewind Dale.

Each will be released digitally and at retail.

'These games are iconic, including Baldur's Gate, which has really set the standard for Dungeons & Dragons computer role-playing games, ' claims Skybound Games' chief executive Ian Howe. Are you a fan of the D&D series?

"We are ecstatic to partner with Skybound Games to bring these great classics to new platforms", said Trent Oster, Beamdog CEO.

With enhanced visuals, added content and reworked user interfaces, it is these versions of those games that Beamdog, through the publishing arm of Skybound Games, will be releasing on PS4 sometime later this year. Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment, two games that originally used BioWare's Infinity Engine, will arrive on a new platform this year, as well.

What's more, Skybound Games says that we'll be hearing much more about the enhancements in the coming months. Most were unavailable due to Interplay's decline, advancements in PC hardware, as well as the lack of digital distribution for them until GOG secured them in 2008.
