Francisco Lindor will likely miss the start of the season with a calf strain. More

Cleveland's pursuit of a fourth consecutive American League Central title will fall largely at Lindor's feet after the team cut payroll this offseason and let go of key players. At minimum without a full spring training before Opening Day, Lindor is now a risky pick and it'll be interesting to see how that ADP is affected in the coming weeks.

Lindor, a three-time All-Star and perennial MVP candidate, hit.277 with 38 home runs and 25 stolen bases last season. With that in mind, the Indians will likely have to survive with an unproven fill-in in the event Lindor misses the early part of the season. Yu Chang and Eric Staments are listed as Lindor's backups on the Indians' website - neither prospect has played in the Major Leagues.

From a certain perspective, even though a repeat of past year has been hard to foresee even if he was healthy right now, Lindor could now become a relative value in fantasy drafts and auctions.

-The New York Mets signed veteran middle infielder Danny Espinosa to a minor league contract, the team announced.

The one positive Lindor and the Indians can take from this is the fact it happened before Spring Training started.

In January Lindor was eligible for arbitration for the first time.

Prior to joining Oakland, Joyce spent six seasons in Tampa Bay where he slugged.435 with 76 home runs and 280 RBI, earning an All-Star bid in 2011. Lindor and the Indians settled on a one year-deal worth $10.55 million.

Joyce, 34, has experience playing both corner outfield positions, and has played center field in a pinch. He has a.221 career average with 98 homers in 872 games between 2010-17.
