Harrison Barnes leaves the court after a game against the Hornets during which he was traded from the Mavericks to the Kings

The Mavericks agreed to send forward Harrison Barnes to the Kings in the middle of their matchup against the Hornets on Wednesday. There are no picks involved in the trade.

Since Nowitzki credited Barnes for being a positive influence in his two-plus seasons with the Mavericks, he wasn't surprised that Barnes stuck around after word of the trade got out.

The Mavericks informed Barnes and his agent, Jeff Schwartz, that a trade might be in the works, but the forward chose to play against Charlotte anyway, according to former Boston Celtics great Paul Pierce and the New York Times' Marc Stein. Porzingis isn't playing this season as he recovers from a knee injury.

Let's look at both teams here and grade the trade. In his most recent appearance in Greensboro, the second-year forward tallied 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds in 35 minutes of play against the Erie BayHawks on February 5, 2019. He is averaging 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season for Sacramento.

Dorian Finney-Smith recorded his second career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell each had 11.

"Everybody else would have bounced". Marvin Williams, Nicolas Batum, Bismack Biyombo and Jeremy Lamb combined for 36 points on 14-of-37 shooting. He's just a generally good dude. As part of the Sacramento trade, Dallas waived C Salah Mejri.

The Kings are trading Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph to the Mavericks for Harrison Barnes, league sources tell ESPN.

"With this trade now, a lot of things are in play", Carlisle said.

Hornets: Second stop on a four-game trip at Atlanta on Saturday. Jackson was active for Friday night's game against Milwaukee.
