Jack Clarke out of hospital after illness scare

UNITED winger Jack Clarke will undergo further medical tests on Monday and miss training this week following his collapse at Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa played down concerns about Clarke's well being after the worrying scenes.

Clarke was replaced for tactical reasons, but began to feel ill during the second half, which he watched from the bench, and was eventually given oxygen by paramedics and taken to hospital.

Former Leeds defender Ian Harte, who represents Clarke, revealed the 18-year-old had been discharged from The James Cook University Hospital and thanked the medical teams from both sides.

United managing director Angus Kinnear said: "Jack has had messages from football fans from every club, as you can imagine, and we all really appreciate it".

"Jack has left the hospital now happy and smiling".

Lewis Wing shot the homers into the lead 47th minute and Boro looked as though they were going to run away with a win with three points up for grabs, but that was not to be as Leeds Kalvin Philips broke the hearts of Boro in the 11th minute of added time. Hopefully back on the pitch very soon.

The draw sends Bielsa's side a point clear of Norwich at the top though the Canaries can reclaim that position if they beat East Anglian rivals bottom-placed Ipswich Town on Sunday.
