Shawn Mendes and Miley Cyrus's rehearsal for their Dolly Parton tribute performance has been posted online and has got us seriously excited for their performance together.

Dolly Parton is having a pretty major week - on February 8, she was honored as the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year, and during Sunday's Grammy Awards, she returned to the stage to perform for the first time since 2001.

Eight-time Grammy victor Parton, the singer and songwriter behind the hits "9 to 5", "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You", got the biggest laughs at the 29th annual gala for MusiCares, which helps members of the music industry in need.

Dolly Parton had herself quite the little tribute at the Grammys tonight!

Parton, a native of Tennessee, won her first Grammy in 1978.

In essence, Sunday night's performance was the MusiCares banquet in miniature with many artists reprising their performances from that night, most notably Musgraves and Perry on a duet of "Here You Come Again" in outfits that were vintage Dolly.

Dolly is also being recognised for her support of several charitable organisations, including the Imagination Library, which she founded in 1995 to support childhood literacy.

In her acceptance speech, she said: "I have worked with so many wonderful men".

On Friday night, Parton was awarded with the MusiCares Person of the Year. She has had 41 Billboard top-10 country albums, the most for any artist, and 25 of her songs have topped the country music charts, tied with Reba McEntire for the most for a female musician.

Her own charity work owes much to her admiration for her father, who labored in tobacco fields and construction sites and could not read.

Meanwhile, the "9 to 5" hitmaker was honored as MusiCares Person of the Year two days before the 61st Grammy Awards.

Parton will be honored on Sunday with another tribute at the Grammy Awards, which will be broadcast live.
