NBA free agency news: Wesley Matthews signs with Pacers

"We're excited to welcome Wesley to the Pacers", said the team's president of basketball operations, Kevin Pritchard, when IN officially signed Matthews.

Matthews was sent to NY from the Mavericks in late January as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade.

According to multiple reports, Matthews quickly agreed to join the Pacers, who still are reeling from the scoring and leadership loss of Victor Oladipo.

"We're excited to welcome Wesley to the Pacers", team president Kevin Pritchard said. "When we looked at possible players to bring in, he fit in well with what we are trying to accomplish here on the court, in the locker room and off the court".

Terms of the deal were not announced.

Matthews spent the past three-and-a-half seasons with the Dallas Mavericks before being dealt to the Knicks as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade on January 31.

Wesley Matthews wasn't a free agent for long. He was in the final season of the four-year, $64 million deal he signed with Dallas in July 2015.
