Barcelona Reach Deal with Frankfurt for Jovic

The Blaugrana have been linked with a host of names to replace the ageing forward, but German publication Frankfurter Allgemeine suggest Eintracht Frankfurt's Luka Jovic is the player they want.

The Catalan giants followed a similar routine with their recent signing of Frenkie De Jong, who first agreed personal terms with the Spanish side before both clubs sorted out his transfer. Despite no one confirming the news being reported by "FAZ", only a few days ago Jovic said he wanted to play in the Champions League next season.

Jovic has been in fantastic form this season, scoring 19 goals and assisting 4 more in 27 appearances, thereby helping Frankfurt reach 5th spot on the Bundesliga table.

Although the Serbia global is on loan from Benfica, Frankfurt have stated their intention to exercise the buyout option in his contract, meaning any suitors would need to negotiate with the German outfit for his signature. This means Barca will need to negotiate a transfer with the Bundesliga side instead of the Portuguese club.
