Jose Mourinho announces new fortnightly television show

"On the touchline with Jose Mourinho" will see the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager discuss the upcoming knockout stages of the Champions League as well as other talking points from the world of football as they unfold.

Amid continued links to former clubs, Mourinho's next job is in television as he has explained how he wanted a new challenge after the unceremonious end to his time with Manchester United. Mourinho says in a promotional video filmed at an ice hockey rink posted on Twitter by RT Sports.

Mourinho, who was dismissed by United back in December, worked with global news channel RT during the World Cup and earned £1.71million (£400,000-a-day) for just four days' work as a TV pundit.

Mourinho was in Moscow earlier this month and hit the headlines after falling over as he performed a ceremonial puck drop at an ice hockey game.

The opening show will be broadcast after the first set of Champions League last 16 second-leg matches have been concluded, and Mourinho will continue his role with Russia Today until the 1 June final.

In 2017 the U.S. Justice Department made the channel register as a foreign agent of the Russian government, which it did under protest despite it being funded by the Kremlin.
