Andy Cohen Debuts His Son Benjamin – See His First Photo!

That was the first thing you see, the head of hair coming out.

Cohen may not have become a first-time parent until a little later in life than most, but the advantage of that, he tells PEOPLE, is that he has "a sense of calm that I didn't have 10 [or] 20 years ago".

The Bravo host shares that he felt "very lucky" in that the embryo that turned into Benjamin was placed in his surrogate about a week before he turned 50 and that there were no complications, adding that he would've been happy with either a boy or a girl as long as it was a "healthy baby".

We've teamed up with @people to reveal a first look at @Andy's precious newborn son, Benjamin Allen Cohen! I can't get over his head of hair. He's adorable, you guys.

"I was in the delivery room, they cleaned him up a little bit. He's so cute", he said.

Upon first meeting his son in the delivery room, Cohen admits the pair just sat and "stared at each other for about two hours" - and now, nine days after Benjamin's birth, "I just sit and stare at him".

Cohen might technically be a single father, but he knows "It's not easy for a single guy to do this on his own" - and he's not afraid to lean on his loved ones. "It takes a village as they say", he notes. "I really wanted him and the fact that he's here and he's ideal and in wonderful health".

On his surrogate: "I worked with an incredible surrogate".

As for his sleepless nights, Andy jokes, "I was never sleeping, but I just wasn't sleeping for different reasons. I kind of feel like, 'Oh, these are the reasons I shouldn't be sleeping, '" he said. Congratulations again on your bundle of joy! His latest post, which he captioned "Heaven." was a photo of Benjamin, who was wearing an adorable Snoopy onesie, grasping Cohen's pointer finger.

Cohen announced that he was going to be first-time dad in December on Watch What Happens Live, revealing that parenthood was something he had always wanted. She gave me life. "I don't want to be a helicopter dad. And though it's taken me longer than most to get there, I can not wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet".
